The olive harvest is coming!

Ciao! Dear followers, adoptive parents, and olive oil lovers,

It’s time for a new Tiny Trullo update, packed with news, fun stories, and – perhaps most importantly – the olive oil pre-sale has started! This year’s olive harvest in Puglia promises to be another unique experience, and if you’d like, you can even be part of it! Read on for all the details, and who knows, we might see each other soon in the sunny south.

How are the trees doing?

Many of you ask how the trees are doing. The good news: they’re doing relatively well, especially compared to the surrounding trees that have unfortunately been severely affected by the deadly Xylella bacteria. Thanks to my tree doctor and our strategy, they’re holding up bravely! The decline is slow, and I hope they build enough resistance to keep producing olives for years to come. Or maybe it’s the opera music I play for them – who’s to say? One thing is certain: your loving support helps immensely, so keep sending that positive energy!

Order your olive oil now

The olive harvest is coming! At the end of this month or the first week of November (depending on the weather), it’s time again: the olives will be harvested. The trees have had plenty of rain, so we’re expecting juicy olives and beautiful oil. Want to enjoy fresh olive oil this year? Order your oil now!

The pre-sale has started. Be quick, because the harvest gets smaller every year and always sells out fast! Adoptive parents get priority. Adopt a tree and get your guaranteed five liters of olive oil delivered to your home, wherever you live.

You can also place a one-time order and pick up your olive oil in Amsterdam. So if you want to be sure of getting a tin, don’t wait too long. Single orders can be picked up at Haarlemmerplein in Amsterdam in early December or at LOT 1038 in Curaçao in early 2025.

Want to experience the olive harvest?

Have you always wanted to see how olive oil is made? I still remember my first time like it was yesterday. A unique experience. Depending on the weather, the harvest will take place around the last week of October or the first week of November, and my Tiny Trullo is still available!

Imagine: waking up in the morning to the sounds of ladders, carts, and men gathering olives… You can help out, take photos, and experience the magic of the oil press. This is truly a bucket-list experience you don’t want to miss!

Help me make an important decision...

Now that the trees are doing relatively well, I have to make a tough decision. My tree doctor advises a heavy pruning (down to 5 meters), so the sap can flow better. This would increase their chances of surviving the summer heat and the Xylella bacteria. But the idea of cutting back my beautiful, healthy trees (some by as much as a third!) feels a bit bittersweet.

What do you think? Should I prune them or leave them as they are? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Looking for an apartment in Puglia?

Between the church and the theater in my village of Ceglie Messapica, I’ve renovated the most beautiful apartment. Two bedrooms, antique furniture, new floors, a gorgeous bathroom, kitchen, fireplace, and a balcony with a view – it’s truly a dream. If you’re looking for a second home or an investment to rent out, let me know. Check out the photos and details here.

In the video below, you can see how stunning the apartment has turned out, and on this link discover the magic of Ceglie.

Want to live on the Italian countryside for a month?

Do you need peace and nature? My Tiny Trullo is available for rent this winter. Work on your projects in complete silence with Starlink internet and enjoy the rural life in Puglia. Walk, meditate, write your book, or take a dip in the unheated pool for a refreshing ice bath experience… There’s underfloor heating, a romantic wood stove, and all the comforts you could wish for.

When I’m there, I’m often invited to learn about the region’s traditions, like making tomato sauce the traditional way. Sometimes my neighbors leave food hanging from the tree by my door; fresh eggs, a jar of dried figs with almonds, pomegranates, fresh spinach, or potatoes from their garden. An old man nearby always asks if I’ll join him for lunch when I pass by. And if I can’t, he sends food with me. Recently, he gave me a jar of the best stewed meat in tomato sauce I’ve ever tasted. In short, it’s truly living in the moment, following the rhythm of nature. It’s the life of a local.

Interested in a peaceful month in Puglia? Send me a message; for the friends’ price of €995, you can stay for a month, either alone or with someone else.

Adoption Stories

This year, several adoptive parents visited their trees again. Each story is unique. One woman gifted herself a tree after her house burned down; another adopted a tree in memory of a loved one. A Jewish mezuzah and a ceramic memorial statue were even placed at the foot of the trees. Every tree has its own story, and that’s what makes the adoption so special.

Would you like to have your own tree in Puglia? Adopt a tree and receive 5 liters of olive oil annually, along with a certificate and a wooden cutting board made from your tree.

Many adoptive parents pour the oil into small bottles to share the magic with friends and family ❤️

PS. In the photos above, the trees had just been pruned, but now they’re thankfully much fuller again!

Thank you all for your loyal support and enthusiasm.

I hope to see you again soon – maybe even in Puglia!

Ciao a tutti!

Esther
